Supply details are entered on the Supply Details tab for an ingredient. For the supply quantity enter a numeric value and select the unit of measurement from the drop-down list e.g. 1 x 1 kilogram. To display fractions use the decimal point e.g. a half will be entered as 0.5 and a quarter will be entered a 0.25.
You can enter a unit conversion for the ingredient to allow greater flexibility when using that ingredient in recipes. For example you may wish to create a conversion for flour where 250 grams of flour equates to 1 cup of flour this is a weight to volume conversion. If you create this conversion then the flour can be used in recipes either as a volume (e.g. cups) or a weight (e.g. grams) unit of measurement.
NOTE: It is not possible to specify a conversion for the same unit type, for example you cannot add a conversion where 1000 grams = 1 kilogram. This type of conversion is already built into StarChef.NET.
To create a conversion from weight to volume or volume to weight click on the add new conversion link. A pop-up window will display allowing you to enter the conversion. Enter the quantity and pack size and select the unit from the drop-down. User defined units can be specified in the Admin section of StarChef.NET by users who have the required permissions.
Click the Save button to return to the main window.
To select a supplier use the Supplier drop-down. The Supplier drop-down will only display suppliers that exist in the database. For more information on adding suppliers to the database click here.
Values available in the Delivery State drop-down are managed in the Admin section of StarChef.NET by users who have the necessary permissions.
If you would like to enter a wastage percentage for an ingredient enter it here in the Wastage (AP/EP) field. This can then be applied to ingredients when they are being used in recipes.
